Discover the joy of wheel‑throwing in this hands‑on 5‑week course designed for complete beginners and improvers. Across five relaxed, creative sessions, you’ll learn the essential skills of working on the potter’s wheel — from centering clay to shaping your own bowls, mugs and cylinders.
What you can expect:
Guided tuition in small groups
Step‑by‑step learning: centering, pulling walls, shaping forms
Practice time on your own wheel each week
Trimming, decorating and refining your pieces
Introduction to studio glazes
Firing two of your favourite finished pieces*
By the end of the course, you’ll have a solid foundation in wheel‑throwing and two of your own handmade pieces to take home.
This course is delivered in Astrid’s studio pottery just outside of Burlawn, Wadebridge, PL27 7LD
5 weeks on a Monday afternoon between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. see dates below:

*There is a small extra charge if you wish to fire and glaze additional pots, kiln space permitting.
